TVNZ scored massive audience numbers across its channels and platforms on Saturday night with over 1.4 million people (AP 5+)* tuning in to TVNZ 1 to see the 2023 General Election results unfold.

An average audience of 483,400 viewers (AP 5+)* was recorded on the night, demonstrating their keenness to stick with the 1News team right up until midnight.

1News Your Vote 2023 Election Night was New Zealand’s highest reaching and highest rating TV programme on Saturday evening (Oct 14) in both key commercial demographics and total audience.

An additional 138,246 accounts were reached on TVNZ+ with those livestreaming the broadcast, generating 268,378 streams**, helping the platform deliver its single biggest day in its history.
