First Look: Outer Range, Teheran S2, Pinocchio
Prime Video today released the trailer for its mind-bending new western series Outer Range, which will stream from April 15.
The eight-episode self-billed “trippy Western thriller” stars Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.
Prime Video says it blends a family saga with wry humour and supernatural mystery in examining how we grapple with the unknown. Reads the blurb:
At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighbouring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed.
Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton co-star.
Prime Video’s also released new trailers for erotic thriller Deep Water (March 18) and season two of Luxe Listings Sydney (April 1).
Apple TV+ has unveiled the teaser trailer for S2 of its International Emmy Award-winning spy thriller, Tehran, which will open with two episodes on May 6.
And Disney has revealed the first image from director Robert Zemeckis’ live-action Pinocchio, which will premiere in September.
Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood-carver who builds and treats the wooden puppet (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience”, Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy, Keegan-Michael Key is “Honest” John, Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman.
