Fresh From the Slow Horses Stable

Slow Horses scribe Morwenna Banks is behind the new Apple TV+ thriller, Down Cemetery Road, which premieres with a double-episode on October 29.
It stars Emma Thompson, who’s also an executive producer, and Ruth Wilson. Reads the blurb:
When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbour Sarah Tucker (Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.
Natalie Bailey (Bay of Fires) is the lead director for Banks’ eight-part adaptation of the novel by Mick Herron, whose Slough House books have spawned seven seasons of Slow Horses (S5 streams from September 24).
Meanwhile, the spy hit’s Emmy-winning creator, Will Smith, is exiting after S5, Variety has confirmed.
“Smith served as writer and executive producer on the Gary Oldman series and was the showrunner in everything but name. He led the production since Season 1 in 2022.”
Taking over the reins on S6 is Gaby Chiappe (The Level) and on S7, All Creatures Great and Small creator Ben Vanstone.
