Fresh Pasture for Yellowstone’s Last Round-up

The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth and final season will switch from SoHo to Sky 5 for its linear broadcast.

It’s one of the first series to wind up on an alternative Sky Entertainment channel following the rebranding of SoHo.

From October 30, SoHo will become HBO and screen exclusively HBO content.

Series sourced from other suppliers will strengthen second-tier channels like Sky 5 and Vibe.

S5B of Yellowstone will air 9.30 Mondays on Sky 5 from November 11; fans who can’t wait to saddle up again with the Duttons can stream new weekly episodes half-an-hour earlier on Neon.

Largely absent from Yellowstone’s last round-up is Kevin Costner, who fell out with creator/showrunner Taylor Sheridan.

Reported Deadline in August 2023: “The crux of the issue … involves star Kevin Costner and disagreements over shooting schedules.

“We are told Paramount Network has declined Costner’s most recent proposal and instead has made the decision to move on to the other show.”

While the rest of the cast returns, and some new faces debut, other details are scarce, from the number of episodes (between six and 10) to plot turns. Per The Hollywood Reporter:

The return of Yellowstone is so secretive that not even the cast knows how it’s all going to play out.

The show’s stars recently revealed that scripts were redacted so the actors would only know their own lines, eliciting real-time reactions in some cases as they filmed.

Given how little has been revealed about the plot and what the show will look like without Costner, the biggest hints at what to expect now come in the newly released, explosive official trailer.
