TVNZ 1 Bags Harry and Meghan Doco
TVNZ 1 will dump next Wednesday’s Extreme Cake Makers and Location Location Location to premiere Harry & Meghan: A Royal Crisis?.
Reads the blurb: “Following the announcement of the royal couple withdrawing from senior duties, we look at the extent of the repercussions this decision will have on the House of Windsor in the coming months.”
The ITV documentary screened in the UK on Sunday and, according to the Daily Mail, sparked a Twitterstorm because of its all-white production crew:
The all-white production team behind ITV’s royal documentary on the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle crisis were slammed last night for a ‘lack of diversity’.
ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship and his team produced the hour-long special ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Crisis?’, which aired last night and covered the highs and lows of the couple’s life in The Firm.
Ahead of the programme, the journalist shared a selfie of the group on Twitter, praising them as ‘classy, hard-working, no nonsense’ and ‘talented’ for putting the documentary together in just two days, after the crisis broke last Wednesday.
But some fans of the Duke, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, 38, were quick to criticise the group, with one commenting: ‘No brown people in UK? No wonder the reporting is from one perspective.’
The documentary will screen from 7.00-8.00 on January 22, ahead of a one-off episode of Highway Cops art 8.00. The previously scheduled Location Location Location will air on January 29.
If you can’t wait until then, here are seven takeaways from the doco.

Next Wednesday?? I couldn’t give two hoots about their plans but if you are going to capitalise on the current interest why not clear the calendar on a night this week? The situation could have changed by this time next week …
Astutely observed, Clint!
I’d rather see an hour-long Highway Cops than a doco on these two.
And now completely out of date, given events of the last few days. Unless an updated version has been released worldwide
