Hayu Launch Like a Bravo+

This week’s launch of reality streaming service Hayu won’t impinge on Bravo’s programming.

Both Hayu and Bravo are NBCUniversal International platforms, with the former being an ad-free subscription model and the latter a free-to-air channel in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Although Hayu trumpets streaming content the same day as the US, Bravo will continue to be NZ’s first TV/broadcast window for the best of Bravo, Oxygen and E!.

It will operate alongside Hayu as 7Bravo does in Australia.

Moreover, Bravo ‘s schedule includes unique content, from third-party acquisitions (24 Hours In Emergency, 999 What’s Your Emergency, Emergency Call Out, Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss), to a local exclusive like Izzy and Beaver’s French Connection, to movies.

Hayu, meanwhile, boasts the full back catalogue of some of NBCUniversal’s top reality series, with every series, season and episode of world-renowned franchises and spin-offs, including Below DeckVanderpump Rules and the US The Real Housewives.

As well as shows only available on Hayu in New Zealand (Made In Chelsea, The Real Housewives of AtlantaWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen), there will be new E! content, including Nikki Bella Says I DoHouse of Villains and Celebrity Game Face.

Other highlights range from retro box sets (Keeping Up With The KardashiansThe Rachel Zoe ProjectVery Cavallari) to sub-genres like Home and Design, Dating, Cooking and Fashion, and True Crime (Relationship Killer with Faith Jenkins, The Real Murders of Atlanta,Homicide for the Holidays).

A Hayu subscription costs $8.99 per month, $43.99 for six months or $79.99 for 12 months. (Until October 23, you can subscribe to the 12-month plan for 50% off. Hayu says this offer includes “a 7-day free trial and the subscription price remains the same until it is cancelled — ie. regardless of any future price increases in New Zealand”.)
