HD Heads-Up: April 13 – 19


➢➢ Movie fans can look forward to three blockbuster free-to-air premieres in the week leading up to Easter. Three will debut Despicable Me 3 (7.00 Saturday) and The Mummy (8.40 Sunday) while TVNZ 2 will pre-empt its Thursday programming for Spider-man: Homecoming (TVNZ 2, 8.00 Thursday). Both TVNZ 2 and Three also will screen primetime movies on Good Friday: the former will air Avatar for the first time and the latter will double-bill Hop and Saving Private Ryan

➢➢ Dancing with the Stars and My Kitchen Rules will go head to head when both launch on April 14. TVNZ 2 will open MKR’s season with a 10th anniversary special and begin the series proper the next night. MKR will screen Sunday-Tuesday, facing off against DWTS on the first two nights of the week. On Tuesdays at 7.30, it will compete against a new season of Three’s top-rating Lost & Found

➢➢ The same week Three will resume NCIS: Los Angeles, on a Tuesday double-bill with NCIS, and Grand Designs UK (7.30 Thursdays), and broadcast live the three-and-a-half-hour Christchurch mosque attacks fundraising concert, You Are Us/Aroha Nui – A Concert For Christchurch (7.00 Wednesday). ➢➢ Ending their runs will be Who Wants To Be A Millionaire UKPilgrimage: Road To Santiago and CB Strike while returning for a Good Friday repeat will be Prime’s epic train journey, Go South, in both the 12-cut cut (from 5.30am) and the three-hour edit (from 7.00).

    Hi Phil. Are we going to see the second half of season 2 of 911 any time soon? It’s nearly finished its season 2 run in the US, so would be good to know if I have to hit my bandwidth if it isn’t being shown here!?!

  2. Hey, Rosco. The Rookie is halfway through its run, so should be off-air mid-June, which would leave the Monday drama slot open for 9-1-1’s return.
