➢ Expect TVNZ 1 to screen season two of Victoria within days of ITV. It’s just put season one on-demand as a box set and appears to be filling its premium Sunday drama slot with one-offs until the Queen Victoria drama returns, which is expected to be later this month or early next month in the UK. ITV has just released stills from the new season of eight episodes, which will pick up six weeks after the first ended and introduce Diana Rigg as the Duchess of Buccleuch, the young queen’s new Mistress of the Robes …

➢ Premiering August 13 in the network’s Sunday drama slot is Man in an Orange Shirt. It follows two gay love stories, 60 years apart, that are linked by family, a painting and a secret. Part one of the two-hour drama screened this week in the UK, where The Telegraph hailed it as “a heart-rending account of gay life in forties Britain” and The Guardian “a heartbreaking tale of happiness denied” …

➢ TVNZ 1 will screen Hunted UK, “a real-life thriller”, 9.30 Mondays from August 14. It follows 14 people, known as Fugitives, on the run from a team of intelligence professionals, known as Hunters, for 28 days. “It’s an interesting social experiment, about how people react to pressure,” The Guardian said. “It does ask questions about the balance between security and freedom, Big Brother Britain. Plus it’s a thriller, a bloody good chase” …

➢ Ending their runs in the week starting August 12 are MasterChef Australia, Dr. Ken and All Round to Mrs Brown’s, while returning that week are Restoration Man (TVNZ 1, 7.30 Thursday) and Location Location Location (TVNZ 1, 7.30 Friday) …
