➢➢ Back to Life is back for a late-night run on a new channel (TVNZ 2, 11.05 Wednesdays from December 8). The excellent first season aired on TVNZ 1 and both can be streamed OnDemand. About an ex-con (Breeders’ Daisy Haggard) who tries to start life over in her home town, its return in the UK was hailed by The Guardian as “near-perfect TV … a pure and painful delight, which can move you from tears to laughter within a single line.” Concurred The Telegraph: “Series two improves on series one in every way. ➢➢ Dame Helen Mirren will host Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses (TVNZ 2, 7.30 Sunday), a “magical competition series” in which Wizarding World fans put their Harry Potter knowledge to the test in the hope of becoming House Cup champion. “Though it seemed during the making of the movies that Harry Potter employed all of the working actors in the U.K., the game show will mark Helen Mirren’s first time doing anything Harry Potter-related, WhatToWatch notes. “Now she’ll serve as the temporary headmaster for this trivia tournament” …

➢➢ Three will launch its own “Shark Weekend” in December with a Shark Alley episode of Bay Patrol (7.00 Saturday) and the hour-long Shark Lockdown (7.30 Saturday). The latter documents how researchers built a self-propelled cage to see how the hunting patterns of female great whites have changed in NZ waters …

➢➢ Debris (TVNZ 2, 12.45am Wednesdays from December 8) is a new sci-fi series about two agents from different continents investigating the wreckage from an alien spacecraft that has mysterious effects on humankind. It’s already streamed OnDemand and ran for only 13 episodes …

  1. I really love the first 2 episodes of Hawkeye on Disney+. I thought it was really well done and looking forward to episode 3 next week. Kate Bishop has definitely got a BIG future in the MCU ?
