HD Heads-Up: December 6-12
T’is the season for season finales.
Ahead of the networks’ Christmas specials rush comes a raft of HD finals.
Exiting the week starting December 6 are Nashville, Our Big Blue Backyard, Happy Valley, Secrets and Lies, Hannibal, Motorway Patrol, The Bogan Hunters, The Flash, Arrow, Neighbours and, in an hour-long cliffhanger on Thursday, Shortland Street.
Tuesday’s Sons of Anarchy also is longer than usual, with the bikie drama’s 90-minute penultimate episode starting earlier at 8.45.
Expect TV One to launch Nashville’s second season off the back of the first, given it’s following the season one finale with an encore: an hour-long recap special, Nashville: The Whole Story, which will air 11.35 Saturday, after Ladies and Gentlemen … Sol3Mio Live in Concert (which was filmed in HD in Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre in September).
And Take That will join Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters and Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville on The Graham Norton Show (TV3, 8.40 Friday).
Magic Mike will have its network movie premiere on Monday (TV2, 8.30).
But the rest of the week’s coming attractions in HD are largely repeats:
- Alaska (TV2, 4.45 Saturday)
- Charlie’s Angels (TV2, 9.00 Saturday)
- Think Like a Man (TV2, 11.00 Saturday)
- My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (TV2, 9.45am Sunday)
- Batman Forever (TV2, midday Sunday)
- Rio (TV3, 7.00 Sunday)
- Mr Deeds (TV2, 7.30 Sunday)
- Two Weeks Notice (TV2, 7.30 Wednesday)
- What’s Your Number? (TV3, 7.30 Thursday)
- 2012 (TV2, 8.00 Friday)
- House of Wax (TV2, 10.00 Friday).
