HD Heads-Up: February 16-22

TV2 will premiere season two of Anger Management the same weekend it re-sumes re-runs of star Charlie Sheen’s first sitcom sensation, Two and a Half Men.

Anger Management will screen in a new slot — 8.00 Sundays — from February 17 while season two of Two and a Half Men will air 7.00 Saturdays.

TV2 is putting Anger Management to air within a month of its US broadcast on FX, which has renewed the show for two more 45-week seasons.

But US viewership of the season-two premiere was “way down” on the ratings for season one’s premiere and finale.

Meanwhile, TV2’s mix’n’matching of new and old episodes of The Big Bang Theory hits bizarre heights with its latest strategy: airing episodes from three different seasons within a four-day stretch.

It will repeat season one from 7.00 Sundays and season three from 9.10 Mondays while continuing with new season six eps from 8.40 Wednesdays.

The confusing timeline won’t be helped by two of the eps not playing at the conventional hour or half-hour juncture, because of the variable length of My Kitchen Rules, which will be stripped 7.30 Monday-Wednesday.

Also of note in HD for the week starting February 16:

❑ TV3’s 7.00 Sunday re-run of The Simpsons is Treehouse of Horror XXII, which sends up Dexter, Avatar and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

❑ The network premiere of the movie Due Date (TV2, 8.30 Sunday) and re-runs of All About Steve (TV3, 8.30 Sunday), The Soloist (TV3, 11.35 Sunday) and Herbie: Fully Loaded (TV2, 8.00 Friday)

❑ TV3 will premiere season three of Saving Grace overnight on Thursday — the same night TV One re-sumes re-runs of Person of Interest at 10.55

❑ Dame Helen Mirren, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann will guest on Friday’s Graham Norton Show (TV3, 8.30).

What’s TV3 been doing with Saving Grace? That show finished in 2010.
