HD Heads-Up: January 24-30

TV3 is getting the jump on TV2’s new-look Tuesdays by premiering the latest seasons of NCIS (above) and NCIS: LA on January 27.

The sister shows will air back-to-back from 8.15 the same night TV2 clears its scheduling deck for the February 3 premiere of How to Get Away With Murder.

Expect the first week in February also to herald the start of Agent Carter and the return of Gotham, Arrow, The Flash, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and, in a new 9.30 Tuesday slot, Grey’s Anatomy.

NCIS (S12) and NCIS: LA (S6), meanwhile, are the only series returning to TV3 for the time being, with the network taking longer to bed in its new-season schedule than its TVNZ rivals.

TV1 also has a returning favourite in week four, Offspring, which will air 8.30 Thursdays.

Watch for more new shows on TV1 in week five, with the network quitting weeknight strips of MasterChef Australia and Border Security.

Meanwhile, the only network movie premieres in week four go head-to-head: Parental Guidance (TV3, 8.10 Tuesday) and Looper (TV2, 8.30 Tuesday) — all the other HD coming attractions are repeats:

  • Robin Hood (TV3, 8.50 Saturday)
  • The Losers (TV2, 11.00 Saturday)
  • My Name is Khan (TV3, 11.50 Saturday)
  • Management (TV2, 12.55am Sunday)
  • Dylan Dog: Dead of Night (TV2, 2.45am Sunday)
  • Kung Fu Panda (TV3, 7.00 Sunday)
  • Jack and Jill (TV2, 8.50 Sunday)
  • The Siege (TV3, 8.35 Monday)

  • Gulliver’s Travels (TV3, 8.10 Thursday)
  • Battle: Los Angles (TV2, 8.30 Thursday)
  • The Time Traveler’s Wife (TV2, 8.55 Friday)
  • Final Destination (TV2, 11.05 Friday).
