TV One and TV3 are soon to launch rival British variety hours in weekend slots. The former will air Tonight at the London Palladium 7.30 Saturdays from July 23 and the latter will premiere Michael McIntyre’s Big Show the next night (it was meant to start this Sunday at 9.30 but has been pre-empted by the documentary, Black Power: America’s Armed Resistance). The Chase’s Bradley Walsh fronts Palladium, which will be the lead-in to Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy, in which the Hotel Inspector star explores her family roots …

Gotham fans frustrated over the Batman prequel airing in SD on Duke can catch up with it in HD when TV2 screens season two after its Sunday Premiere Movie from July 24. It will open with a double-episode two months ahead of the series’ NZ Blu-ray release …

The same week TV2 will launch season four of Wentworth with a double episode (8.30 Monday). It went to air two months ago in Australia and is notable for recruiting newcomer Sigrid Thornton, who starred in the original Prisoner

TV2 will resume Dr Ken and Mike & Molly as part of its Wednesday comedy block from July 27, the same night it premieres the latest Gloriavale special, The Women of Glorivale, and launches season two of The Mysteries of Laura in a new slot (9.30 Wednesdays) …

Prime will revive two of its comedy staples for a new Wednesday night block from July 27: The Odd Couple will air 9.30 and The Millers, 10.00. This will be the first time both series have aired here in HD. Also getting an HD spruce-up is Antiques Roadshow, which is being dusted off for a 7.30 Monday run from July 25 …
