HD Heads-Up: September 6-12
Good news for fans of TV3’s The Good Wife: September 9′s season-four finale will be followed by the premiere of season five on September 16.
This week star Julianne Marguiles won the best actress in a drama series Emmy Award for playing the title character in the show’s fifth season, which shocked fans with the sudden death of a pivotal character.
It was Marguiles’ second win for the series, which will spice up her character’s love life in the sixth season that’s due to start next month in the US.
She’s hinted there will be a “Clintonian relationship” for Alicia and her husband Peter (Chris Noth).
“Politically, both of their careers need each other. We’re playing a real Bill-and-Hillary storyline.”
New to the cast of the sixth season will be The Following’s Connie Nielsen as a well-connected lawyer and Frasier’s David Hyde Pierce, in his first major TV role in 10 years, as an esteemed cable news legal commentator who is so disgusted by the corruption and murder rate in Chicago that he runs for office.
