SoHo Highlight: One Nation Under Dog (Sky 10, 8.30, 5.1) A look at the sobering realities behind our relationship with dogs, showing how far some dog lovers will go, and how far we have to go to treat all dogs humanely. “Well into One Nation Under Dog, HBO’s revealing but difficult documentary about our deep bonds with canine companions, we reach a point that is nearly too awful to watch,” The Washington Post warned, before adding: “This film is only for the most rational sort of dog lover — someone who ‘gets’ the human-dog connection at its most soulful level but also harbours no magical thinking about a dog’s life. They are not like us, and we outlive them. Between those two facts exists something almost indescribably dear and fragile.” ✭✭✭✭

Sky Movies: Wall Street – Money Never Sleeps (Sky 20, 8.30, 5.1) The sequel to the 1987 release that won Michael Douglas a best actor Oscar looks a million dollars in HD. But the movie, in which disgraced Wall Street guru Gordon Gekko makes a comeback with the complicit support of his estranged daughter’s stock-trader fiancée (Shia LaBeouf), never convinces and surprises only by selling out the original. Carey Mulligan co-stars; Oliver Stone directs. (2010) ✭✭✭
