HD Hit to Make Gleeful Comeback
TV3 has yet to schedule the return of its exuberant HD sensation, Glee, but says it will be back “soon”.
The high school musical hit has just resumed on US TV, where the mid-season premiere earned the series its highest viewership yet – about 13.7 million viewers – on the back of an Elvis-themed American Idol episode that screens here on Friday (TV2, 8.30pm).
Quipped The Hollywood Reporter of Glee’s comeback: “Second verse, a lot like the first but still extremely addictive”.
The series’ return also was highly publicised in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and Vanity Fair while in its review of the just-released Season 1, Volume 1 DVD, The Digital Bits speculates that Glee at last will bow on Blu-ray after the remaining nine episodes of the first season have aired.
Meanwhile, at the weekend the show was among the winners at the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards.
