HD Ratings: Three’s LOL Line-Up Improves
7 Days bounced back to win the 7.30 hour for Three on Thursday in the core commercial demographics, which helped the rest of the channel’s new LOL line-up to get a foothold.
The Kiwi panel show averaged 3.4% of 25-54 year-olds and 2.7% of 18-49s.
It won the hour outright with the latter but midway through Three’s target 25-54 audience switched over to the season premiere of TVNZ 1’s Your Garden Made Perfect.
YGMP averaged 3.2% of this key demo and out-rated 7 Days in two quarter-hour segments; it averaged 2.4% of 18-49s.
TVNZ 2’s Ten 7 Aotearoa averaged 2.8%/2.3% and Highway Patrol 2.9%/2.2%.
Three’s 8.30 season premiere of NZ Today averaged 2.4% of 25-54s and 2.0% of 18-49s. It was neck-and-neck with the end of YGMP and the opening of Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby.
The Ex Best Thing on TVNZ 2 averaged 1.3%/1.0%.
Three’s next new series, Comedians Giving Lectures, averaged 1.2% of 25-54s and 1.0% of 18-49s.
The network’s comedy double-bill was competitive with TVNZ 1’s Amazing Hotels. While the latter won the 8.30 hour in both major demos (2.1%/1.4%), the comedies each won a quarter hour in the 18-49 demo.
But Three’s third newcomer, Outsiders, finished third with a 0.4% average of each demo. Among the shows it overlapped were TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street (1.2%/0.7%) and TVNZ 2’s Filthy House SOS (0.9%/0.6%).
Even though Three’s comedy returns diminished over the night, the new post-7 Days block improved on the prior season of UK stand-up specials.
TVNZ 1 won the night with commanding demo shares while Three easily led TVNZ 2.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
