HD Ratings: A Night of Newcomers
In a night of premieres on Monday, TVNZ 2’s Celebrity Treasure Island won the 7.30 hour while the return of The Rookie and Special Victims Unit on Three dominated the core commercial demographics from 8.30-10.30.
CTI averaged 3.8% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.0% of 18-49s vs 3.5%/2.4% for Three’s The Block NZ: Redemption and 4.3%/2.5% for TVNZ 1’s Fair Go and 2.7%/1.5% for lead-out The Check Up.
The Rookie averaged 2.4%/1.6% and SVU 1.3%/0.9%. Both shows overlapped another season premiere, Australian Survivor, which was competitive but because of its length averaged lower demos: 1.0%/0.7%.
Survivor lead-in, the S10 premiere of Renters, finished third in the 25-54 demo but split the 18-49 audience with Rookie.
TVNZ 1’s 8.30 option, My Life is Murder, could muster only 2.2%/1.3% but the network’s evening line-up was unassailable.
Prime’s Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber was more popular with 18-49s than 25-54s, averaging 0.3% vs 0.2%, to out-rate Duke’s toon block.
Whakaata Māori’s documentary premiere, A Band Called Death, averaged 0.0% of each key demo.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest core demo shares — 28.0%/26.2% — while Three was runner-up, with 22.4%/20.3%.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
