HD Ratings: Climate Challenges Nadia’s Farm
TVNZ 1’s target audience 25-54 year-olds were more skeptical of its 1 Climate Special on Wednesday than 18-49s — at least in terms of overnight ratings.
The Miriama Kamo-hosted hour averaged 2.5% of 25-54s, beating the competition in its first half but losing to the second half of Three’s Nadia’s Farm.
In the 18-49 demo, the special averaged 2.3% to easily win the entire slot.
Otherwise, Wednesday was another write-off for TVNZ 2’s Kiwi comedy DuckRockers, which finished third at 7.30 with 1.8% of 25-54s and 1.4% of 18-49s, while lead-out Young Sheldon averaged 1.2%/1.1%. Nadia’s Farm rounded up 2.4%/1.5%.
The 8.30 hour was keenly contested with TVNZ 2’s Taskmaster (2.2%/1.8%) pipping TVNZ 1’s The Hotel Inspector (1.9%/1.5%) and Three’s David Lomas Investigates (1.8%/1.2%).
TVNZ 2 also dominated at 9.30 with Live at the Apollo (1.0%/0.8%) while TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street and Three’s Sort Your Life Out were neck and neck — not for second place but third, behind Bravo’s 911 Crisis Centre and Snapped.
Prime averaged 1.0%/0.6% for Traffic Cops, 0.7%/0.4% for Ambulance and 0.3%/0.2% for Sewer Squad.
Duke’s highest-rating show was the 8.00 broadcast of The Simpsons (1.1%/0.9%) while lead-out The UnXplained averaged 0.3% of each core demo ahead of 0.5% for Neighborhood Wars and 0.4% for Grime and Punishment.
Eden’s most-watched broadcast was Newshub Live at 8pm (0.6%/0.4%) whereas Whakaata Māori’s was the movie Barbershop 2 (0.2%/0.1%).
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest core demo shares and Three finished ahead of TVNZ 2, albeit narrowly in the 18-49 race.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
