HD Ratings: 3rd Degree Rates Second For Once
3rd Degree’s scoop about new evidence in the David Bain case earned the HD current affairs hour its highest ratings yet.
It averaged 7.6% – 9.0% of the key demographics to rate ahead of TV One’s 24 Hours in A&E but behind TV2’s HD comedies The Big Bang Theory (12.0% – 16.3%) and 2 Broke Girls (10.5% – 15.4%).
Ironically, the week TV2 announced Arrow will shift to 8.30 Thursday, after two months of exceptional ratings at 9.30 Wednesday, the comic book adaptation scored a season low: 6.2% – 9.9%.
On Tuesday, Go Girls dominated at 8.30, with 6.0% – 10.2% versus Penguins: Spy in the Huddle’s 5.3% – 8.7% and NCIS’ 4.7% – 7.5%.
TV2 also was tops at 9.30, when Revenge rated 5.9% – 10.3%, NCIS: Los Angeles 3.7% – 7.1% and the premiere of NZ Detectives, 2.2% – 4.3%.
At 7.30, TV One’s SD hit Dynamo: Magician Impossible largely won the 7.30 hour, with 10.6% – 15.6%, compared to 9.2% – 15.8% for The Big Bang Theory and 4.8% – 5.7% for Modern Family.
Monday’s X Factor NZ won the second half of its hour but was out-rated by The Big Bang Theory in the first half while Grey’s Anatomy, which started midway through X, slipped to 7.4% – 9.8%.
Criminal Minds bowed out with a double-episode finale that averaged only 3.4% – 5.45% while TV3’s re-run of 2 Fast 2 Furious finished not much further ahead with 4.5% – 5.9%.
