HD Ratings: Ratings Fillip From Slot Flip

Flipping slots for The Week the Landlords Moved In and replacing Aussie Property Flippers with re-runs of Highway Cops lifted TVNZ 1’s Wednesday evening ratings.

Landlords improved the network’s 25-54 average at 8.30, from 1.7% to 2.4%, while Cops accelerated its 7.30 average from 2.3% to 3.2%.

Their combined clout helped Supersize Structures to win the 9.30 hour, with a 25-54 average of 2.3% compared to 1.8% the previous effect.

But the night’s big winner, after TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street, was Three’s Married at First Sight, which easily out-rated My Kitchen Rules in all the core commercial demos.

Pre-empting Swipe Right for Murder for Weinstein: The Inside Story paid off for Three, with the latter averaging 2.7% of 25-54 vs 2.1% the previous week.

Weinstein posted an even bigger 18-49 gain — 2.2% vs 1.1% —  and lifted the slot’s 18-39 average from 0.9% to 1.6% while Three’s share of household shoppers with kids improved from 12.4% to 16.3%.

TVNZ 2’s The Big Bang Theory was steady, with a 25-45 average of 4.7%, and lead-out Mom jumped from 2.8% the previous week to 4.4%.

Prime’s movie, Cellular, also was up on the previous week’s Sherlock Holmes, averaging 2.1% of 25-54 vs 0.4%.

It gained sharply in all the other key demos, too; its first hour was competitive with TVNZ 1’s Landlords in the 25-54 and 18-49 demos and out-rated it and Supersize Structures in the 18-39 and HHS/k stakes.

1 News at Six dominated at 6.00 while competition between Seven Sharp and The Project tightened at 7.00, with the latter beating the former among HHS/k.

Three won the night with the biggest share of 25-54 while TVNZ 2 led in the other core demos, although only seven-tenths of a rating point separated it and Three among HHS/k.
