HD Ratings: Angel Flies High
Three’ network movie premiere of Angel Has Fallen won its slot on Sunday in the core commercial demographics.
It averaged 3.3% of 25-54 year-olds and 2.4% of 18-49s compared to 2.4% / 1.8% for TVNZ 1’s The Brokenwood Mysteries and 1.8% / 1.4% for TVNZ 2’s Justice League.
Angel Has Fallen had the first Sunday night broadcast of The Block NZ as its lead-in.
It averaged a sturdy 4.9% / 4.2% of the key demos but was still beaten by TVNZ 1’s Sunday.
The latter averaged 5.8% / 4.3% on the back of Hyundai Country Calendar’s 9.5% / 6.4% while TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia averaged 2.1% / 1.2%.
Despite receiving a stronger lead-in from Sunday, Brokenwood still shed more than half of its 25-54 viewership: it opened with 4.3% and closed with 1.7%.
Angel’s fall was steep, too, declining from 5.4% to 2.1%.
Duke’s ridiculously dated stand-up special, Lee Mack: Hit the Road Mack, averaged only 0.7% of each key demo.
But even this was higher than Prime’s ANZ Premiership Netball and the return of The Equaliser, each of which averaged 0.0%.
TVNZ 1 easily won the night’s biggest demo shares while Three had a commanding lead over TVNZ 2.
