HD Ratings: Aussie Aussie Aussie!

It wasn’t just MKR that ruled on Tuesday night – so did all of TVNZ 2’s Aussie-infused schedule in the core commercial demographics.

My Kitchen Rules averaged a tasty 4.2% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.0% of 18-49s, with viewership building over the course of the 90-minute episode.

It set up Hunted Australia (2.5%/1.5%) to dominate from 9.00-10.00 and Australian Survivor (0.9%/0.5%) and a double-ep of CSI to carry the rest of the night.

TVNZ 1’s 7.30 rival Grand Designs NZ averaged a competitive 3.9%/2.6% and Three’s Lego Masters 2.0%/1.5%.

The return of Cold Case averaged 3.5%/2.3% at 8.30, with the last half-hour winning both key demos — but lead-out Coronation Street couldn’t maintain the advantage, with averages of 1.2%/0.7%.

Three’s Emergency averaged 1.1%/0.7% and Newshub Late 0.6%/0.4%.

Three started the night poorly, with The Project averaging just 1.9% of 25-54s against Seven Sharp’s 3.8% and Shortland Street’s 2.7%.

The strength of TVNZ 1’s early evening line-up, and the competitiveness of the rest of its schedule, delivered the network peak demo shares of around 30 while TVNZ 2’s were around 21 and Three’s around 14.

Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
