HD Ratings: Aussie Ninja Crushes Aussie Survivor
Three’s Australian Ninja Warrior pummelled the first two episodes of TVNZ 2’s Australian Survivor.
The latter averaged 2.4% of TVNZ 2’s target audience, 18-49 year-olds, on Tuesday, and the latter, 4.2%.
In Three’s key 25-54 demographic, Survivor averaged 3.1% and Ninja, 4.7%.
On Monday, Survivor averaged 1.7% of 18-49s and 2.8% of 25-54s, and Ninja, 5.3% and 6.2% respectively.
Ninja’s popularity helped lead-out 9-1-1 to win its Tuesday night slot on all the core commercial demos, averaging 3.4% – 6.8%.
TVNZ 1 was competitive earlier, when Dog Squad and Highway Cops beat both Aussie shows in all the key demos except 18-39.
It also topped Three in the battles of the news hours at 6.00 and of the newmags at 7.00.
TVNZ 1 won the night in all the core demos except 18-39, which Three won.
But on Monday, Three won the night across the board.
Ninja set up Murder, Lies & Alibis to win its slot with 3.8% – 6.4% of the key demos, but TVNZ 1’s Prodigal Son easily led Survivor.
TVNZ 2’s hour-long Shortland Street averaged an unbeatable 6.1% – 10.4% while TVNZ 1 again dominated at 7.00.
