HD Ratings: Blue Rose Springs Back (a bit)
TV3’s struggling HD commission The Blue Rose challenged TV One crime drama The Following in the ratings on Monday.
It averaged 2.6% – 4.3% of the key demographics, which was scarcely a convincing case for renewal.
But it marginally improved on the previous week’s ep (2.5% – 3.7%).
And was more popular than The Following (2.1% – 5.0%) with 18-49 and 18-39 year-olds while being competitive with it in the 25-54 demo.
TV One’s other HD crime drama, Criminal Minds, rated lower than usual, to average only 4.9% – 6.8% against a double-ep of The Big Bang Theory (11.1% – 15.7%).
TV One’s HD reality shows also came off second best against TV3’s in all the key demos except 18-39, where they were neck-and-neck.
And Shortland Street’s strongest night in several days — 14.7% – 18.4% — didn’t stop Campbell Live (5.1% – 10.6%) from trouncing Seven Sharp (2.9% – 5.8%).

It’s time TVNZ axed Seven Sharp! It’s doing more damage to their primetime schedule than Close Up!
