HD Ratings: Bogans Bounce Back
More Kiwis discovered The Bogan Hunters in the reality show’s second week than the first.
Tuesday’s episode averaged 8.2% – 10.8% of the major demographics, which was well up on the premiere’s 5.4% – 6.5%.
Viewership lifted once The Block NZ (9.0% – 13.5%) ended, with Bogan’s second half more popular than the first.
The show’s appeal appears to have dented TV3’s The Blacklist more than TV One’s The Mentalist.
The former averaged 3.7% – 5.9% ahead of Sons of Anarchy’s 3.0% – 5.1%.
Both dramas were down on the previous week whereas The Mentalist was relatively stable on 4.7% – 6.8% off the back of My Kitchen Rules NZ’s 5.4% – 7.1%.
Lead-out Unforgettable (2.0% – 3.9%) also was about the same but TV2’s Embarrassing Bodies embarrassed its HD rivals with 4.9% – 8.4%.
Tuesday remains one of the week’s most competitive nights, especially in the 25-54 demo where the networks were neck and neck.
Tuesday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:
- A18-49: TV One, 5.8 rating/20.2 share; TV2, 7.3 rating/25.6 share; TV3, 6.4 rating/22.2 share

- A25-54: TV One, 7.0 rating/22.4 share; TV2, 7.2 rating/23.0 share; TV3, 6.9 rating/22.0 share
- HHS/k: TV One, 7.3 rating/20.4 share; TV2, 10.7 rating/29.9 share; TV3, 8.4 rating/23.6 share.
TV2 also scored top ratings 9.30 Monday, when The Walking Dead averaged 6.7% – 10.0%, which was down on its premiere but well ahead of TV One’s Castle (1.9% – 5.5%) and TV3’s re-run of Along Came Polly, which averaged 3.3% – 4.4% over two hours.
TV2’s Wentworth was also tops, with 8.1% – 13.5% on the back of Cougar Town’s 7.2% – 10.0%.
But the Courtney Cox comedy was down sharply on its lead-in, Ground Floor (8.6% – 13.1%), while TV One’s Criminal Minds slipped to 3.5% – 8.7%.
