HD Ratings: Born Gets the Boot, Bang Big With Bob
TV One is ditching One Born Every Minute after TV2’s My Kitchen Rules and The Big Bang Theory crushed it in Wednesday’s ratings.
MKR averaged 13.1% – 16.6% of the key demographics and rated as high as 17.6% of household shoppers with kids during the first half-hour of One Born Every Minute.
The latter averaged 3.2% – 5.8% and was below 4.0% in all the key demos except HHS/k.
Although more popular than TV3’s 3rd Degree, it lost about half its lead-in from Fair Go (5.6% – 10.1%) and fared only slightly better in its second half against Big Bang (10.6% – 12.7%), which guest starred Bob Newhart as a posthumous Professor Proton.
This evening, TV One announced it was replacing One Born Every Minute from next week with Britain’s Biggest Hoarders.
Born’s lead-out, Nashville, hangs on, however, despite ratings as lacklustre as Wednesday’s: 1.7% – 2.6%.
It lost to TV2’s 2 Broke Girls (7.9% – 8.8%) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (3.9% – 4.7%), and only beat TV3’s Caught on Camera (1.2% – 2.5%) in the HHS/k demo.
Earlier, Highway Cops averaged 6.1% – 9.6%, Shortland Street 13.4% – 18.3% and Crime Exposed, 1.9% – 2.9%.
Wednesday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:
- A18-49: TV One, 5.0 rating/18.0 share; TV2, 10.5 rating/37.7 share; TV3, 3.3 rating/12.0 share
- A18-39: TV One, 4.8 rating/18.1 share; TV2, 11.2 rating/42.0 share; TV3, 3.4 rating/12.6 share
