HD Ratings: Clue Gives TVNZ 1 a Huge Hit
TVNZ 1’s critically castigated game show Give Us a Clue? has become a huge hit for the network.
Wednesday’s episode rated far higher in the core commercial demographics than the premiere.
It averaged 7.4% of 25-54 year-olds and 6.3% of 18-49s compared with 4.6% / 3.1% the previous week.
Week-on-week ratings also were higher for Clue’s rivals. TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia averaged 5.5% / 4.0% of the key demos and Three’s The Block NZ 4.9% / 3.7%.
These gains were due to exceptionally high ratings for the flagship news bulletins because of their lockdown coverage.
1 News averaged an astounding 17.0% of 25-54s and 12.5% of 18-49s vs Newshub Live’s 7.4% / 5.6%.
Seven Sharp averaged twice as many viewers as The Project, with 10.8% of 25-54s and 8.4% of 18-49s, while Shortland Street finished second at 7.00 with 5.6% / 4.5%.
Heightened concern over the latest Covid-19 outbreak clearly put viewers in the mood for light entertainment, with TVNZ 2’s Taskmaster NZ and Would I Lie to You? both winning their slots in the major demos.
The former averaged 4.3% / 3.7% and the latter 2.3% / 2.0%.
TVNZ 1’s Kirstie & Phil’s Love It or List It averaged 3.6% / 3.0% and Coronation Street 1.8% / 1.7% to beat Three’s LA’s Finest (2.3% / 1.7%) and Hawaii Five-O (1.9% / 1.2%).
TVNZ 1 won the night with 36+ key demo shares — double the 25-54 and 18-49 averages of TVNZ 2 and Three.
