HD Ratings: Clue Still a Crowdpleaser

Kiwi comedy dominated the primetime ratings on Wednesday, with both Give Us a Clue and Taskmaster winning their slots in the core commercial demographics.

The celebrity charades hit averaged 5.7% of 25-54 year-olds and 4.5% of 18-49s vs 4.7% / 3.8% for TVNZ 2’s Travel Guides Australia and 3.4% / 3.6% for Three’s Bondi Rescue.

Taskmaster averaged 3.7% / 3.3% against TVNZ 1’s Kirstie & Phil’s Love It or List It (3.2% / 2.7%) and Three’s LA’s Finest (2.1% / 1.8%).

But at 9.30, all the major networks lost to Duke’s Paralympics coverage, which averaged 2.7% of 25-54s and 2.1% of 18-49s.

TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street averaged 2.2% / 1.8%, TVNZ 2’s Would I Lie to You? 2.0% / 1.7% and Three’s Hawaii Five-O 1.5% / 1.1%.

The popularity of 1 News at Six and Seven Sharp earlier helped TVNZ 1 to win the night with 30 shares of both key demos while TVNZ 2 pipped Three for second place.
