HD Ratings: Dave’s the New Fave
Tuesday night newcomer Step Dave is evolving into one of TV2’s biggest new-season hits.
This week’s episode averaged 8.6% – 11.4% of the key demographics, and was most popular with TV2’s target audience of adults 18-39 and household shoppers with kids.
It was bolstered by sensational ratings for lead-ins Shortland Street (14.1% – 19.0%), Nabbed (11.9% – 16.6%) and Neighbours at War (9.1% – 12.8%).
They thrashed both TV3’s season premiere of Grand Designs (4.9% – 5.6%) and TV One’s double-bill of Surveillance Oz (3.5% – 5.5%) and Australia’s Deadliest (3.3% – 5.2%).
Step Dave easily won the 8.30 hour against TV3’s NCIS (4.7% – 8.3%) and TV One’s Hidden Kingdoms (3.3% – 6.6%).
But NCIS: LA (4.7% – 8.8%) clawed back viewers opposite Revenge (4.9% – 6.8%), beating it and TV One’s Secrets of the Scammers (4.2% – 4.5%) in each of the key demos except 18-39.
Scandal at 10.30 averaged 1.6% – 3.5% to lose against TV One’s Tonight and TV3’s Paul Henry Show in every key demo except HHS.
The peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:
- Adults 18-49: TV One, 5.2 rating/17.9 share; TV2, 8.5 rating/29.2 share; TV3, 5.6 rating/19.2 share
- Adults 18-39: TV One, 5.0 rating/17.6 share; TV2, 8.9 rating/31.2 share; TV3, 5.4 rating/18.8 share
- Adults 25-54: TV One, 6.0 rating/19.2 share; TV2, 8.1 rating/25.9 share; TV3, 6.8 rating/21.7 share
- HHS: TV One, 7.1 rating/20.5 share; TV2, 11.0 rating/31.7 share; TV3, 7.8 rating/22.5 share.
