HD Ratings: Demon Dancers Outfoxtrotted

TV3’s season finale of Dancing With the Stars out-rated TV2’s The Voice Australia but not Sunday’s exorcism scoop on TV1.

DWTS averaged an impressive 5.0% – 8.9% of the commercial demographics but couldn’t match Sunday’s 6.9% – 11.0%.

The Voice averaged 4.8% – 7.1% and beat DWTS in the final half-hour.

From 8.30, TV2 dwarfed the competition with its network movie premiere of Captain Phillips (6.6% – 8.0%).

Episode two of TV3’s Safe House (1.5% – 2.9%) rated even lower than TV1’s struggling Indian Summers (2.7% – 4.1%); it was largely a similar story at 9.30, with Devil’s Playground (1.3% – 3.1%) versus Rush (1.3% – 1.8%), although Rush was more popular among 18-39 year-olds.

TV2’s movies dominated Saturday night while TV3’s premieres of The Safe Crackers and American Ninja Warrior finished third in their slots.

Sky’s International Rugby Championship coverage on Friday hurt free-to-air viewership, although TV3’s premiere of Chopper’s Republic of Anzakistan (3.8% – 4.9%) won its slot in the 18-49 demo (but didn’t carry the 18-39 and 25-54 demos that lead-in 7 Days did).

Thursday’s final Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson averaged 3.2% – 3.6% against TV1’s season finale of Britain’s Got Talent (3.0% – 6.0%) but TV2 was tops with its reality shows, including the season finale of The Undateables (7.1% – 8.1%).

There was better news for TV3 on Wednesday, when its network movie premiere of The Wolverine (3.2% – 5.1%) clawed its way to the top among 18-49 year-olds.

Tuesday’s season finale of NCIS also went out on a high (3.0% – 6.5%) and challenged TV2’s top-rating Empire in two of the key demos.

I’m finding TV very boring at the moment, anyone else agree with me? I wish we had something decent and fun to watch 🙂
