HD Ratings: DIY Hit to Die For
Wednesday’s episode of The Block NZ was the highest rating yet among household shoppers.
It averaged 18.7% of HHS and 10.7% – 11.5% of the other key demos.
They were down slightly on Monday’s premiere but still ahead of TV2’s HD sitcoms, Two and a Half Men (9.4% – 12.9%) and The Neighbors (7.6% – 9.7%).
Only with viewers 5+, the demo TV One dominates and which doesn’t have the same advertising cachet, did it come off second best: 9.6%.
That was higher than the sitcoms’ 5+ average but well behind TV One’s Fair Go and Border Security.
3rd Degree retained only half of The Block’s lead-in but still rated above average, with 4.8% – 9.0% of the key demos and 5.2% of 5+.
It out-rated The Big Bang Theory (7.3% – 8.6%) and Cougar Town (5.4% – 6.8%) only in the HHS demo but TV One’s One Born Every Minute largely had the edge over them all.
At 9.30, Prime had a rare win with the second half of the movie RED, underscoring the weakness of TV2’s Devious Maids (4.0% – 5.1%) and TV3’s Breakout Kings (2.9% – 3.7%).
