HD Ratings: DNZ DOA
TVNZ 1’s Documentary NZ insight into conversion practices on Tuesday failed to convert many viewers from the competition.
Beyond Conversion averaged only 0.8% of the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, and 0.5% of the next key demo, 18-49s.
It finished third behind TVNZ 2’s Hunted Australia (2.2%/1.3%) and Three’s Emergency (1.6%/1.1%).
The previous week’s DNZ, Kids Wired Differently, won the 8.30 hour with averages of 2.8%/2.0%.
It was a strong night for TVNZ 2, with Celebrity Treasure Island (3.1%/2.0%) winning the 7.30 hour against TVNZ 1’s Eat Well for Less? (UK) (2.6%/1.6%) and Three’s Lego Masters (Australia) (1.5%/1.1%).
And Australian Survivor dominated at 9.30, winning with 1.1%/1.3%. Only when it was head-to-head with Three’s Newshub Late did it lose its 25-54 lead.
TVNZ 1 rival Coronation Street averaged 0.6%/0.4% off its weak DNZ lead-in.
Prime’s The First Lady averaged 0.3% of the key demos and lead-out The Flight Attendant 0.0%.
While the popularity of The Chase, 1 News at Six and Seven Sharp ensured TVNZ 1 still won the night’s peak demo shares, TVNZ 2 easily led Three in the 18-49 race and edged ahead in the 25-54 stakes.
Three’s premiere of Lego Masters on Monday lost to TVNZ 1’s Fair Go in the core demos but otherwise its 90-minute launch dominated with averages of 3.0%/2.2% and set up The Rookie to win at 9.00 (1.6%/1.2%).
This spilled over into a 25-54 win for lead-out Special Victims Unit but the tail end of TVNZ 1’s 20/20 and 1 News Tonight proved too strong in the 18-49 demo.
TVNZ 2’s The Walking Dead averaged 0.2%/0.1% on the back of Australian Survivor’s 0.9%/0.7%.
Prime’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty averaged 0.1%/0.0%.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest key demo shares while Three was well ahead of TVNZ 2.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
