HD Ratings: DuckRockers Shocker
TVNZ 2’s newest Kiwi comedy DuckRockers proved to be a ratings featherweight on Wednesday, when episode two of the Sione’s Wedding spin-off trailed the competition in its 7.30 slot.
The series premiere launched successfully on the back of last week’s Celebrity Treasure Island final.
But in its new slot it averaged just 1.6% of 25-54 year-olds and 1.4% of 18-49s, the network’s core commercial demographic.
Stablemate Young Sheldon improved on its Sunday night run but was scarcely a hit, with similar demo averages of 1.5%/1.4%.
The new double-bill allowed Three’s Nadia’s Farm to win back the 7.30 hour, with impressive averages of 4.6%.3.5%, while TVNZ 1’s Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win finished second with season highs of 2.6%/1.9%.
Nadia lead-out David Lomas Investigates won its slot, with averages of 3.2%/2.2% vs 2.5%/2.0% for TVNZ 2s Taskmaster and 1.7%/1.3% for TVNZ 1’s The Hotel Inspector.
The networks’ 9.30 line-ups were out-rated by Sky’s T20 coverage.
The popularity of Three’s line-up led to it narrowly winning the night’s biggest share of 25-54s while in the 18-49 race it led TVNZ 1 by nearly three points.
On Tuesday, TVNZ 1’s Grand Designs NZ won the 7.30 hour in both key demos while TVNZ 2’s My Kitchen Rules and Three’s Lego Masters were neck-and-neck.
TVNZ 2’s Hunted Australia dominated the rest of primetime but TVNZ 1 carried the night with 30 shares of the core demos.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
