HD Ratings: Food for Thought
TVNZ 1’s Thursday line-up took a tumble after dominating last week’s 25-54 ratings.
A History of Comedy plummeted more than four ratings points, with its 25-54 average collapsing from 5.1% to this week’s 1.8%.
Similarly, lead-in Eat Well for Less shed two points, from 6.2% to 4.2%, opposite TVNZ 2’s surging Family Food Fight, which averaged 5.2% compared to 3.7% the previous week.
FFF’s popularity also dented Modern Family’s appeal, which slipped from 3.1% to 2.2% week-on-week while stablemate 9JKL was steady on 1.9%.
But lead-out Hanna proved to be a bigger drawcard than Jarhead the week before, averaging 3.9% compared to the latter’s 2.9%.
Despite a much bigger lead-in from FFF than the previous week, The X-Files continued to struggle, barely improving from 3.3% to 3.5%.
Lead-out Sensing Murder improved from 1.4% to 2.2% opposite Coronation Street’s 1.7% but still lost to the second half of Hanna.
The ratings on all free-to-air channels suffered from the closing stages of Sky’s international cricket 20/20 coverage, which won three quarter-hour segments in the 25-54 demo from 9.15-10.15.
Earlier, 1 News was four rating points ahead of Newshub Live at 6pm while 1’s The Extreme Cake Makers drew nearly three times as many 25-54 viewers as Three’s The Project.
Shortland Street continued unassailed with 7.1% and helped TVNZ 2 to win the night in all the key commercial demos.
Prime’s Louis Theroux: Dark States — Heroin Town was its highest-rated show of the night, with a 25-54 average of 0.6%.
