HD Ratings: Good Sports in Winning Form
TVNZ 2’s premiere of Jono & Ben Good Sports on Thursday won its slot with the network’s target audience, 18-49 year-olds, and was competitive in the other core commercial demographic, 25-54.
It averaged 3.3% of 18-49s and 3.8% of 25-54s on the back of 4.0% / 3.8% for Police Ten 7.
It overlapped with TVNZ 1’s Your Home Made Perfect repeat (4.2% / 3.3%) and Million Pound Pawn (2.7% / 1.8%), and Three’s repeats of David Lomas Investigates (3.6% / 3.0%) and Bay Patrol (2.0% / 1.6%).
Three’s premiere of Finding Escobar’s Millions (2.2% / 1.8%) lost to both TVNZ 2’s A Current Affair and Pawn.
But Three bounced back at 10.00 with Newshub Live winning with averages of 2.4% / 1.6%.
TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street averaged 1.8% / 1.5% and TVNZ 2’s Filthy House SOS 1.1% / 0.9%.
Earlier, 1 News at Six dwarfed the competition but the race was tighter at 7.00, when Seven Sharp averaged 6.4% / 5.4%, Shortland Street 5.7% / 4.5% and The Project 5.6% / 4.2%.
Replacing Millionaire Hot Seat with Aussie Gold Hunters as the 5.00 lead-in to Newshub Live hasn’t paid off for Three, with the Discovery series starting well on Monday but slipping to just 1.5% / 0.9% of the key demos on Thursday.
TVNZ 1 won the night with the biggest core demos shares while Three led TVNZ 2.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
