HD Ratings: Norton Deep Sixes 666
TV2’s 666 Park Avenue’s days could be numbered after Friday’s premiere was out-rated by TV3’s Graham Norton Show.
The supernatural newcomer averaged 4.5% – 5.1% of the key demographics compared to Norton’s 5.9% – 8.6%.
Even among TV2’s core viewers, the British chat show was more popular: 5.9% vs 4.7%.
TV One’s Dallas was no ratings gusher, either, averaging only 1.2% – 3.0% for its first hour and 1.4% – 3.3% for the second.
The Block Australia had another big night — 5.8% – 10.3% — while American Idol started strongly, albeit yet again in SD, on its new channel, Prime.
The two-hour premiere averaged 3.1% – 4.6% ahead of another series that should be screening here in HD, Beauty and the Beast (2.0% – 3.3%), which rivaled or out-rated Dallas.
On Saturday, TV2’s SD Jackie Chan double-bill, The Medallion and Rush Hour 2, dominated while TV3’s CSI combo was down on the previous week but still twice as popular as TV One’s Pan Am.
TV One’s repeat of First Crossings at 7.30 averaged 1.9% – 3.3%, which was no match for Ice Road Truckers’ 4.3% – 5.8%.
TV3’s HD premiere of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa on Sunday rated 3.6% – 6.4% against TV2’s re-run of Cars (4.8% – 6.4%).

I’m not surprised at 666 Park’s numbers, drama on a Friday night does not work and it’s a shame for Dallas, which will no doubt return in a late night slot for its second season. Prime will be very pleased with its ratings.
