HD Ratings: Grand Scheduling Design Pays Off

TVNZ 1’s Grand Designs NZ and Cold Case proved an unbeatable Kiwi double-bill in Tuesday’s overnight ratings.

The former averaged 4.2% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.1% of 18-49s, and the latter 3.3%/2.5%.

Grand Designs rated well ahead of TVNZ 2’s My Kitchen Rules (2.7%/2.0%) and Three’s Lego Masters (2.2%/1.7%).

MKR lead-out Hunted Australia averaged 2.3%/1.7% vs 1.4%/1.0% for TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street and 1.5%/0.8% for Three’s Emergency.

Prime’s The First Lady averaged 0.4%/0.2%, Duke’s movie Widows 0.2%, and Eden’s 21 Day Body Turnaround with Michael Mosley 0.1%/0.0%.

TVNZ 1 also won the night’s biggest key demo shares on Monday night, despite persistently low ratings for flagship drama One Lane Bridge (1.1%/0.7%).

Lego Masters (3.3%/2.7%) outrated MKR (2.7%/2.1%) but neither could top TVNZ 1’s Fair Go (4.5%/2.9%).

TVNZ 2’s Ambulance Australia and Three’s The Rookie split the 18-49 viewership but the latter was more popular with 25-54s.

Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
