HD Ratings: Hawaii Five-O Surges on Block Wave
Hawaii Five-O on Tuesday posted some of its best ratings since the crime drama reboot first went to air.
It averaged 5.4% – 5.9% of adults 18-49, 25-54 and household shoppers on the back of The Block NZ’s two-hour, penultimate episode.
They weren’t great numbers in isolation, especially given the lead-in averaged 13.9% – 18.5% of the major demographics, including adults 18-39.
But they were well above what Five-O had been rating in the slot and even challenged TV2’s The Walking Dead, which is on the rise since being promoted back into primetime.
The zombie drama, which has just been renewed for a fifth season, averaged 4.9% – 9.4%.
It lost to Five-O in the 25-54 stakes and seesawed with it for 18-49 eyeballs but won in the 18-39 and HHS demos.
Dead was even more popular than its lead-in, The Mentalist (5.7% – 9.4%), with adults 18-39 and tied with HHS.
The biggest casualty at 8.30 was TV One’s Wild Planet: North America, which posted season lows of 2.9% – 4.9% and only 3.3% of the network’s target audience, adults 25-54.
At 7.30, TV2’s The Amazing Race averaged 6.2% – 7.3% on the back of Shortland Street’s 14.2% – 18.3%.
