HD Ratings: Humans Wins Race in Key Demos
TV3’s premiere of sci-fi drama Humans helped to spawned some of the network’s highest Tuesday night ratings in months.
The well-reviewed newcomer that even earned Doug (“Curmudgeon”) Coutts’ approval averaged 6.1% – 7.9% of the commercial demographics and won the 8.30 hour in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos.
It out-rated TV1’s The Mentalist (2.9% – 7.0%) across the board and was competitive with TV2’s re-run of Men in Black (3.5% – 5.9%) among household shoppers with kids.
Humans had a strong lead-in from Road Madness (7.1% – 8.2%) and Gold Coast Cops (7.5% – 9.4%), with the former tops in 18-39 and the latter winning in 18-39 and 18-49.
Humans lead-out Caught on Camera also shone, winning three of the four key demos with a 4.4% – 5.3% average.
The only disappointment for TV3 were stubbornly low ratings for 3 News and Story, both of which were trounced by their TV1 rivals.
TV1’s final 9.30 broadcast of Aquarius (1.2% – 2.1%) justified its demotion to 11pm as of next Tuesday while TV2’s Reno Rumble fared poorly off the back of Shortland Street (11.6% – 20.1%).
It averaged 5.6% – 10.5% but rated above 6.1% only among household shoppers with kids.
The result was TV2 won the night only in the HHS/k demo while just as rare was TV3 topping the 18-39 and 18-49 demos:
