HD Ratings: Innocence Lost

TVNZ 1’s newest drama series Innocent rated higher than National Treasure when it premiered on Tuesday.

The thriller averaged 3.5% of viewers 25-54 for the first hour and 2.1% for the second, to finish behind the reality shows on TVNZ 2 and Three.

This was despite being delivered a strong lead-in by The Celebrity Chase, which won the 7.30 hour with a 25-54 average of 5.7% — the same as lead-in The Extreme Cake Makers.

The latter drew nearly three times as many 25-54 viewers as Three’s The Project (2.0%) and was only 2.7 ratings points behind TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street.

Three’s House Rules won the 7.30 hour in the 18-49 demo but tied with 1’s Celebrity Chase for 18-39 eyeballs (3.7%) and lost badly to TVNZ 2’s Family Food Fight among household shoppers with kids (3.4% vs 7.2%).

TVNZ 2’s Instant Hotel and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! were also #1 among HHS/k but lost to Three’s Lost & Found and Road Cops in the other key demos.

At 6.00, 1 News outrated Newshub Live across the board.

TVNZ 1 went on to win the night with a 24.2% share of 25-54 (compared to 2’s 21.6% and Three’s 21.0%) while Three was #1 with 18-49 (23.7% vs 1’s 21.4% and 2’s 21.0%).

Three also won with 18-39 but had less than half the HHS/k viewers of 2 (15.8% vs 33.6%).
