HD Ratings: Larkins Takes the Lead

After a lacklustre season premiere, The Larkins bounced back on Sunday to win the 8.30 hour in both core commercial demographics.

It averaged 3.5% of TVNZ 1’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, and 2.0% of 18-49s.

That was on the back of Sunday’s 4.8%/3.0% averages and Hyundai Country Calendar’s 6.1%/3.5%.

TVNZ 2’s My Kitchen Rules averaged 2.6%/2.3% from 7.00-8.30 and Three’s Australian Ninja Warrior, which ran 25 minutes longer, 3.2%/2.2%.

Three dominated from 9.00, with its movie, Hacksaw Ridge (1.5%/1.0%) beating TVNZ 2’s Hollywood relic xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (1.2%/0.8%) and TVNZ 1’s The Bay (1.3%/0.7%).

On the smaller HD channels, Eden’s movie Creation averaged 0.0%, Prime’s When Big Things Go Wrong 0.2%/0.3%, Duke’s South Seas Spearo 0.5% and Whakaata Māori’s Once Upon a Time in America 0.3%/0.2%.

TVNZ 1 easily won the night with a 25-54 share of 35.9 and an 18-49 share of 32.8 while Three finished 6-7 points ahead of TVNZ 2.
