HD Ratings: Lego No Building Block
Lego Masters NZ won the 7.30 hour in the core commercial demographics on Tuesday but the rest of TVNZ 2’s primetime line-up trailed TVNZ 1 and Three’s.
Lego averaged 3.8% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.3% of 18-49s.
But a more surprising outcome was Three’s Bondi Rescue double-ep largely out-rating TVNZ 1’s The Casketeers and Lap of Luxury.
Bondi’s first ep averaged 3.0%/2.2% against Casketeers’ 2.7%/2.0% and the second, 2.3%/1.7% against Luxury’s 2.4%/1.5%.
Despite a time slot-winning lead-in, TVNZ 2’s NCIS: Hawai’i (1.8%/1.6%) and FBI International (0.8%/0.7%) lagged behind Three’s NCIS (2.4%/1.8%) and NCIS: Los Angeles (1.1%/0.8%).
The splitting of the crime drama audience made it easier for TVNZ 1 to win the 8.30 hour with First Responders (2.8%/2.2%) and the 9.30 hour with Coronation Street (1.5%/1.3%).
TVNZ 1 also dominated earlier, with The Chase, 1 News at 6pm and Seven Sharp.
TVNZ 2’s Big Brother block has still to attain the same viewership as the comedies it pre-empted and may even be denting lead-out Home and Away’s appeal, which averaged only 2.0%/1.7% on Tuesday (the previous week it averaged 3.2%/2.5%).
Eden averaged 0.0% of 25-54s and 18-49s from 8.30-10.30 while Prime’s And Just Live That … mustered 0.3% and lead-out Your Honor 0.1%/0.0%.
Duke’s movie Straight Outta Compton averaged 0.3%/0.2%, and Maori TV’s Africa’s Wild Horizons and Toa Hunter Gatherer 0.1% of each key demo.
TVNZ 1 won the night with 30+ shares of the core demos.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
