HD Ratings: Lightning Doesn’t Strike Thrice for Gotham
Only three weeks in and TV2’s Gotham already is losing ratings steam.
Sunday’s episode was beaten by TV3’s re-run of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief in the key demographics and finished behind TV One’s Call the Midwife in all but one.
It averaged 4.6% – 7.2% off the back of Meet the Robinson’s 5.7% – 9.5% and was least watched by 18-49 year-olds, the audience most craved by advertisers.
The previous week’s episode averaged 7.4% – 9.7% and the series premiere, 8.1% – 10.5%.
Percy Jackson averaged 5.7% – 6.7% against it and lead-out Agents of SHIELD (3.8% – 5.4%) while TV One had a strong night with its dramas Midwife (4.3% – 7.3%) and A Place to Call Home (3.0% – 6.0%).
Home won the 9.30 hour in the 18-49, 25-54 and household shopper demos while Midwife was competitive off the back of My Kitchen Rules NZ’s 4.5% – 7.9%, which won the hour with TV One’s 25-54 target audience and topped The X Factor Australia in all the key demos except 18-39.
Week-on-week, TV2 was the biggest loser, with TV3 pipping it in the 18-39 stakes and TV One winning the night in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos.
Sunday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:

I have a feeling Pitch Perfect will be a BIG winner for TV3 on Sunday, it certainly deserves to be 🙂
Did anyone notice that this week’s episode of Almost Human was ep 10 “Perception” rather than about ep 3 or 4?
Don’t give up on Gotham — it’s new to the channel, let the series settle down, give it time to improve.
