HD Ratings: Lomas Nibbles Away at Eat Well

Three’s David Lomas Investigates has closed the gap with TVNZ 1’s Eat Well for Less? NZ in the key 25-54 demographic.

Both networks target this audience with their programming. When Eat Well premiered two weeks ago, three rating points separated them in this demo.

But last Tuesday the gap was barely one point, with Eat Well averaging 7.4% and Lomas, 6.5%.

And in the 5+ and household shoppers demos, Lomas edged ahead: 8.4% of 5+ (vs 8.3%) and 6.4% of HHS (vs 6.3%).

It lost to Eat Well among 18-49s and 18-39s but out-rated TVNZ 2’s My Kitchen Rules: The Rivals in all the core commercial demos except 18-39, where viewership was split.

Lomas’ popularity helped lead-out NCIS to win the 9.30 hour in the 25-54, HHS and 5+ demos.

While TVNZ 2’s revival of How to Look Good Naked was more popular in the 18-39 demo, it finished third in all the other key demos except HHS, where it topped TVNZ 1’s Unbreakable.

Here are last Tuesday’s most-watched primetime programmes on the free-to-air HD channels (excluding +1 and in order of their 5+ rating and audience share):

Not as strong in the demos but the 5+ figures for The Chase are something. A 5pm quiz show doing massive numbers.

  2. Even more amazing, Clint, is they’re reruns.
