HD Ratings: Three Wins Big With MAFS Reunion and 9-1-1 Union
Three’s pairing of the Married at First Sight Australia finale with the season premieres of emergency dramas 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star was a disaster for TVNZ.
Three ruled Monday night in the core 25-54 and 18-49 demographics from 7.30-11.00.
The MAFS reunion special was the biggest crowdpleaser, averaging 7.8% of 25-54 year-olds and 6.5% of 18-49s.
The S4 return of 9-1-1 averaged 3.5% / 2.6% respectively of these demos and the S2 launch of spin-off Lone Star, 1.7% / 1.2%.
TVNZ 2’s Popstars averaged 2.2% / 1.9% against the first hour of MAFS and lead-out Vegas, 2.6% / 1.7%.
The good news for the network was Vegas’ week-on-week improvement in both key commercial demos, up from 1.4% / 1.1%.
Vegas lead-out Creamerie also got a boost, from 0.3% of 25-54s to 1.2% and from 0.1% of 18-49s to 0.8%.
Both series may have benefitted from TVNZ 1’s softness, with the chilling documentary I Am Not a Rapist averaging only 1.6% of 25-54s and 1.0% of 18-49s and lead-out 20/20, 1.2% and 0.7% respectively.
Against MAFS, Fair Go averaged 4.0% / 2.3% of 25-54 / 18-49 and The Casketeers, 3.4% / 1.6%.
Earlier, Seven Sharp lost to The Project in the 18-49 demo, and both were beaten by Shortland Street; in the 25-54 demo, Seven Sharp won.
Three won the night with massive shares of the major demos: 31.9% of 25-54s (vs 24.8% for TVNZ 1 and 14.4% for TVNZ 2), and 35.2% of 18-49s (vs 20.7% for 1 and 15.4% for 2).
