HD Ratings: Match Fit Finishes First
Three’s season final of Match Fit won its slot on Wednesday in the network’s chief commercial demographic, 25-54 year-olds.
It didn’t rate as highly as some of the previous episodes but scored a solid 3.1% average over 90 minutes to trounce TVNZ 1’s Give Us a Clue (1.8%) and Location Location Location (1.5%).
It was a similar outcome in the 18-49 race, although the gap wasn’t as wide.
But TVNZ 2’s line-up had the edge on Match Fit, with MasterChef Australia averaging 2.1% of 18-49s to narrowly win and seesawing with 25-54s (2.9%).
However, the closing half-hour out-rated Taskmaster NZ in both key demos (1.3% of 18-49s, 1.7% of 25-54s).
Coronation Street dominated at 9.30, with roughly double the viewership of TVNZ 2’s Guessable; Three’s overlapping Sort Your Life Out NZ and This Time Next Year finished second in the 25-54 demo and third in the 18-49 stakes.
Earlier, TVNZ 1’s Seven Sharp took a rare back seat to both Shortland Street and The Project in both core demos.
TVNZ 1 narrowly won the night with the biggest 25-54 share, just ahead of Three, and 18-49 share, a nose ahead of TVNZ 2.
TVNZ 1 also led the core demos on Tuesday night but Sky’s international rugby coverage was so popular that Sky Sport 1 had the second highest share of 18-49s for the night.
The live coverage averaged 3.3% of 25-54s and 3.2% of 18-49s, out-rating all the line-ups on the free-to-air channels.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
