HD Ratings: Micro Monsters Big But Not Massive

Micro Monsters With David Attenborough helped to maximise TV1’s appeal on Sunday.

The series premiere won the 7.30 hour in two of the key demographics, adults 25-54 and household shoppers with kids.

It averaged 3.4% – 6.6% overall but was beaten by TV2’s Freaky Friday (3.4% – 5.4%) and TV3’s Mr Popper’s Penguins (3.9% – 6.1%) in the 18-39 and 18-49 demos.

Lead-out Broadchurch (3.4% – 6.3%) won the 8.30 hour in the 25-54 demo while its HD stablemate Prey averaged 1.2% – 3.4%, which was competitive enough to beat TV3’s Made of Honor (1.5% – 1.8%) but not TV2’s You Again (4.2% – 7.0%).

TV3 had a stronger night Saturday, with Night at the Museum 2 averaging an unbeatable 6.0% – 11.1% and its premiere of Lincoln (2.2% – 3.6%) winning all of the key demos except 25-54.

But TV2 dominated Friday with its season premiere of The Bachelor Australia (4.0% – 5.7%) scooping the 18-39 and HHS/k demos and lead-out The Wedding Date (4.1% – 7.0%) largely winning its slot in all the key demos.
