HD Ratings: MKR Continues to Lead DWTS

Dancing With the Stars lost to My Kitchen Rules for the second night in a row on Monday.

The extra-long edition of MKR won its slot in all the core commercial demographics, beating not only DWTS but also its popular stablemate, The Rookie.

MKR averaged 8.3% of the 25-54 demo (vs DWTS’ 6.7% and The Rookie’s 3.3%), and 6.6% of 18-49 year olds (vs 5.8% and 2.7%).

It also helped lead-out Mom to win its slot in all the key demos, but viewers switched back to Three to watch Special Victims Unit.

SVU out-rated TVNZ 2’s higher-profile Killing Eve across the board, with 2-3 times as many viewers, except among 18-39s, where only two-tenths of a ratings point separated them.

Meanwhile, TVNZ 1’s 9.30 option, Q + A, rebounded, with 1.2% of 25-54s, while at 7.00, the opening quarter-hour of Seven Sharp, which explored the meaning of the word, pakeha, beat Shortland Street in the 25-54 and 18-49 demos.

TVNZ 2’s soap won the slot overall but Seven Sharp was buoyant, with exceptionally high averages of 6.8% (25-54) and 5.4% (18-49).

Fair Go and Driving Test finished third against the powerhouse competition — MKR out-rated Shortland Street in three of the four core demos — while Criminal Minds averaged 2.9% of 25-54s and 2.5% of 18-49s.

Not surprisingly, TVNZ 2 won the night’s biggest shares of all the major demos.
