HD Ratings: MKR Overules House Rules

TVNZ 2’s season finale of My Kitchen Rules NZ won its slot in all the core commercial demographics on Sunday when a father and daughter were crowned top chefs.

It averaged 5.7% of 2’s target demo, 18-49 year-olds, versus 2.7% for Three’s House Rules and 3.6% for the premiere of TVNZ 1’s Queen of the World.

In the 25-54 demo, it averaged 7.4% vs 3.3% for HR and 4.9% for Queen.

On the back of Shortland Street, which seesawed with 1’s Hyundai Country Calendar in these demos, it set up 2 to win the night with a repeat of the movie Riddick as the 8.30 lead-out.

Riddick averaged 3.1% of 18-49 and 3.7% of 25-54 vs 2.7% of each demo for Three’s premiere of Allied.

Riddick also won in the 18-39 and household shoppers with kids demos while TVNZ 1’s re-run of Billy & Me averaged 1.6% – 3.0% of the four key demos.

TVNZ 2’s re-runs of Shrek the Third and The Wedding Singer dominated Saturday night’s ratings, with the former monstering Three’s premiere of Trolls and the latter seesawing with another Three premiere, Why Him?.

And, for the first time this season, Doctor Who won its slot on Friday, with averages of 2.6% – 4.1% in the key demos.

Lead-out Ant-man also dwarfed the competition, although the first half-hour lost to TVNZ 1’s The X Factor UK.
